Councilman David Marks Helps Commemorate Milestone in $20 Million Renovation Effort
Owings Mills, Md. (November 11, 2016) — Greenberg Gibbons announced today that it is unveiling a new main entrance at The Shops at Kenilworth, the landmark shopping destination in Towson, Md. that is currently undergoing a $20 million renovation. Baltimore County Councilman David Marks will participate in a ribbon cutting ceremony for the entryway this Friday, November 11 at 10:00 a.m.
The new entrance is a key element to modernizing The Shops at Kenilworth by updating the exterior and interior into a more contemporary, welcoming specialty shopping center and community gathering place. The entrance is covered, incorporates domed wood ceilings and canopy lighting, and faces Kenilworth Drive. It sits next to a new Trader Joe’s grocery store under construction, which is opening in early 2017.
All Shops at Kenilworth retailers remain open and operational during the renovation, which is taking place in phases to minimize disruptions. The center will continue to host popular community events, including its beloved Holiday Train Garden, which will run from November 19 to January 6 this holiday season.
Construction on the property began last summer. A remodeled Stebbins Anderson store was completed as part of the overall renovation plans last spring.
“I am delighted with the renovations being made at The Shops at Kenilworth, which has been a hometown favorite for shoppers for decades,” said Baltimore County Councilman David Marks. “The improvements will coincide with the holiday season when so many people enjoy the experience at The Shops at Kenilworth.”
“The new entrance is an important step in modernizing The Shops at Kenilworth,” said Brian Gibbons, Chairman and CEO of Greenberg Gibbons. “We’re proud to be giving this community gem the special polish it deserves.”
Greenberg Gibbons began managing The Shops at Kenilworth in July 2014 and assumed full ownership of the property in April 2015. For more information about the renovation and to follow progress of the project, visit: www.GGCommercial.com/KenilworthRenovations.
